Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine


Jidong Wu

Dr. Jidong Wu qualified as a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner in 1979, Nanjing, China.  He then obtained his Master's degree in Medicine at Shanghai University of TCM in 1986.  He practised acupuncture and herbal medicine in a general hospital for over 17 years in China before coming to England in 1993. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and BSc (Hon's.) TCM Programme Leader in Middlesex University.
 
He has been practising TCM in the London and Cambridge area since 1994.  He joined the Churchill Medical Centre practice in 1997.  He specialises in treating digestive problems and gynaecological disorders with acupuncture or combined with Chinese herbal medicine.  He is the member of the British Acupuncture Council and a council member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (UK).

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is one of the world's oldest medical systems that is still widely practised.  It is unique and independent medical system which originated in China and developed down through the centuries imbued with the spirit of Chinese civilisation and culture.  For thousands of years, TCM has played a major role in maintaining the health of Chinese people.

 

   

Liran Yuan
Dr. Liran Yuan graduated from the Department of Western Medicine at the Capital (Beijing, China) Medical University in 1967. He is was born into a family of Physicians, his grandfather was a famous Physician of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), who served the royal family in the Qing Dynasty.

Dr Yuan is a founding member of the Beijing Association of the Integration of TCM and Western Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Beijing University, where he also teaches. He is a member and advisor to the Association of TCM (UK) and member of the British Acupuncture Council (UK).

 

For the past 35 years Dr Yuan has been invovled in research and theories of TCM, written more than ten books and has published papers on Geriatrics, TCM and keeping fit, self help aids, rehabilitation and has edited 16 TCM books.

Dr Yuan has lectured internationally and his own interests and experiences in clinical practice include, internal medicine, acupuncture tuina for treating, heart, liver stomach problems, stress, depression, arthritis, musculoskeletal stiffness and stopping smoking.
